Welcome to the Explorers
For ages between 14 to 18 years old
Explorer Scouts are young people, usually aged between 14 and 18 years old.
They make up the fourth Section of the Scouting family.
Charmouth Seagulls meets weekly during term time and is a fun and active group.
Members are encouraged to help plan the programme and come up with ideas and activities for the group. There are badges to work towards as well as the Platinum and Diamond Scout Awards which link in with the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme.
As an Explorer Scout, you will get the chance to meet other Explorer Scouts in the District (West Dorset), not just our Unit. By doing this, you will get the opportunity to do many more activities, not just the ones your Unit organises.
Explorer Scouts can also apply for overseas Scouts expeditions and the World Scout Jamboree which is held every 4 years.
It’s understood that there will be times when you will be busy doing other things such as exams, and being an Explorer Scout will have to fit around these.
You will also make an Explorer Scout promise.
Charmouth Explorer Scouts is for young people aged between 14-18 and they enjoy a wide range of activities both in and around Charmouth and with the district.
Explorer Scouts meet on Wednesday evenings.
